Psalmody
Psalm 135 (1-12)
Ant. See everything in good light. Take care of each other. (1825 letter to Fr. Mye)
Alleluia!
Praise the name of the LORD;
give praise, O servants of the LORD,
who stand in the house of the LORD,
in the courts of the house of our God.
Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good.
Sing a psalm to God’s name, who is gracious.
For the LORD has chosen Jacob,
and Israel as a treasured possession.
For I know that the LORD is great,
that our Lord is high above all gods.
Whatever the LORD wills is accomplished,
in heaven, and on earth,
in the seas, and in all the depths.
God summons clouds from the ends of the earth,
makes lightning produce the rain,
sends forth the wind from heaven’s treasuries.
The Lord smote the firstborn of the Egyptians,
human beings and beasts alike.
God sent signs and wonders in your midst, O Egypt,
against Pharaoh and all his servants.
Nations in great numbers were struck,
and kings in their might were subdued:
Sihon, king of the Amorites,
Og, the king of Bashan,
and all the kingdoms of Canaan.
God gave their land as a heritage,
a heritage to Israel, God’s people.
Glory to the Father…
Ant. See everything in good light. Take care of each other.
Psalm 135 (13-21)
Ant. Place all your trust in God, my dear son. (1861 letter to Fr. Bellon)
LORD, your name stands forever,
your renown, LORD, from age to age.
For the LORD will vindicate Lord’s people
and take pity on God’s servants.
Pagan idols are silver and gold,
the work of human hands.
They have mouths but they do not speak;
they have eyes but they do not see.
They have ears but they do not hear;
there is never a breath on their lips.
Their makers will come to be like them,
and so will all who trust in them!
House of Israel, bless the LORD!
House of Aaron, bless the LORD!
House of Levi, bless the LORD!
You who fear the LORD, bless the LORD!
From Zion may the LORD be blest,
God, who dwells in Jerusalem!
Glory to the Father…
Ant. Place all your trust in God, my dear son.
Canticle (Rev 15:3-4)
Ant. May you be filled through your whole life, through all eternity, with all the blessings of our God’s generosity. (1810 letter to Madame de Mazenod, his mother)
Great and wonderful are your works,
God the Almighty One!
Just and true are your ways,
Ruler of all ages!
Who shall refuse you honour,
or the glory due your name?
For you alone are holy,
all nations shall come and worship in your presence.
Your judgements are clearly seen.
Glory to the Father…
Ant. May you be filled through your whole life, through all eternity, with all the blessings of our God’s generosity.
Reading
My brothers and sisters, whenever you experience various afflictions, consider it an occasion for rejoicing because you know that the testing of your faith brings about steadfastness. And let steadfastness be fully developed in you that you may be mature and whole, lacking nothing.
(James 1:2-4)

Canticle of Mary
Ant. Inspired by the example of Mary, we live in creative and ongoing fidelity our personal commitment to Jesus Christ. (Constitution 46)
My heart is radiant, overflowing with joy,
for you have loved my lowliness.
You have shown me great favour;
all people will call me blest.
Your mercy extends throughout the ages
toward those who revere your holy name.
You have revealed your strength,
scattering the proud of heart.
You dethrone the powerful
and lift up the lowly.
The famished are filled;
the rich sent empty away.
Your people Israel you have remembered,
true to your loving kindness,
just as you have promised long ago
to Sarah and Abraham.
Glory to the Father…
Ant. Inspired by the example of Mary, we live in creative and ongoing fidelity our personal commitment to Jesus Christ.
Intercessions
You are our creator, O God, and you know of what we are made; have mercy on those who are forced to work beyond their strength or to bear their limit of suffering.
Jesus, you prayed for unity on the night you died for us; heal us of our prejudices, and grant success to our efforts toward ecumenism.
We pray for those who suffer insult and persecution for their faith; that the Lord will uphold them in their suffering.
Lord’s Prayer
Concluding Prayer
O God of peace, who through your Son Jesus Christ proclaimed one faith for the salvation of the world: send your grace and blessing on all Christians who are striving to draw nearer to you and to each other. Give us boldness to seek only your glory and the advancement of your Kingdom. Unite us all in you, Father, who with your Son and the Holy Spirit are one God, forever and ever. Amen.
